Is it mandatory for my child to proceed with normal Invisalign treatment after completing Invisalign First treatment?
This is highly dependant on the complexity of the case. Some patients may require undergoing phase 2 treatments with Invisalign after completing their Invisalign First treatments.
Your child’s dentist will be able to better address this question after analysing the oral condition of your child.
Typically, this will all be stated during the treatment planning phase.
What's the difference between Invisalign and Invisalign First?
Invisalign First is designed towards addressing the need of developing children under 10 years of age. Whilst Invisalign is designed for teens and adults who have had most if not all of their adult teeth erupted already.
How long should my child wear his/her aligners for every single day?
Good patient compliance when it comes to aligner wear will determine the success of any Invisalign treatment as the treatment only works if the patient is properly wearing his/her Invisalign aligners for the right amount of hours every single day, as instructed by the dentist.
Having said this, most patients will need to wear their Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours a day throughout the Invisalign treatment.
These aligners are only to be removed when eating, flossing or brushing.
How do I ensure that my child is wearing their aligners
Parents who are concerned about their child’s compliance when it comes to wearing their aligners can be assured that Invisalign has set measures in place to track and monitor patient compliance.
For example, a small blue dot on every Invisalign First aligner will help indicate if the child is wearing the aligners for adequate number of hours every single day.
Moreover, parent may also opt to get their child onboard with Dental Monitoring, which will allow our dentist to track the progress of your childs’ Invisalign First treatment remotely, ensuring that teeth are moving the way that they need to move, at every step of the Invisalign First treatment.
What happens if my child loses or breaks an aligner?
In the case of a missing or damaged aligner, you should get in touch with us as soon as possible, preferably on the same day.
Our dentists will advice you on the next steps to take depending on your child’s case.

Effective ways to clean your Invisalign Aligners
The advanced technology of Invisalign aligners has made them a hugely popular alternative to braces for straightening teeth, among teens and adults alike.
These clear plastic appliances are more comfortable and virtually unnoticeable in the mouth, and have the further advantage of removability for brushing and flossing and meals and snacks. And they can fix less complex orthodontic problems up to twice as fast as braces.
How to Clean Retainers: For Removable and Permanent Retainers
Retainers sit inside of your mouth and come into direct contact with your teeth. Bacteria, plaque and tartar can quickly accumulate inside of your retainers if they’re not cleaned properly and regularly. Just like your regular teeth, it’s important to clean your retainers everyday.
ClearCorrect vs Invisalign
In this article, we compare two popular clear aligner companies: Invisalign and ClearCorrect. They are two of the most renown in-office clear aligner companies that boast a strong track record of results. Both sets of aligners aim to straighten misaligned teeth and correct jaw discrepancies, however, the process to getting to an ideal end result (i.e., straight teeth and aligned jaws) varies slightly.
